Acts 5:29-32; Psalm 148; 1 Peter 1:3-9; John 20:19-31 "Kingdom People Live To Restore All Things"

God is the Creator of this world and His plan is that this world will be restored. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the redemptive step in the fulfillment of God's plan. We live as resurrection people who are not afraid because Christ has been raised from the dead and He is coming again to restore all things. We live now to see the beginning of this restoration as we serve and help our part of God's creation become what He intended.

Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 16; Colossians 3:1-4; Matthew 28:1-10 "God Pursues All People to be Kingdom People"

God is always seeking, always desiring to rescue people and restore them to the full life that He created all of us to enjoy. Full life is found only in Him, "in your presence there is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11. Stop running and receive the gift of life in the risen Christ.

Isaiah 50:4-9a; Psalm 118:19-29; Philippians 2:5-11; John 12:12-19 "Kingdom People Live in the Presence of God!"

The Christian life is a life lived in relationship with Almighty God. Psalm 16:11 tells us that it is in God's presence that we experience real joy. Joy is necessary for feeling a sense of well-being. This is why God, the Father, sent His Son, Jesus, and together they send us the Holy Spirit so that we could live perpetually in the presence of God.

Ezekiel 37:1-14; Psalm 130; Romans 8:1-11; John 11:17-27, 38-53 "Kingdom People Have Well-Being in the Life-Giving Word of God!"

All the readings point to the life-giving power of God through Word and Sacrament. God tells Ezekiel to speak over dry sun bleached bones and they come to life. Jesus tells Lazarus to come out and the dead man walks out of his tomb. Paul tells us that in the Word of Christ there is no condemnation. This is well-being at its best.

Isaiah 42:14-21; Psalm 142; Ephesians 5:8-14; John 9:1-41 "People Live in the Light and Light Up the World"

In John 9, Jesus heals the sight of a man born blind. In doing so Jesus shows Himself to be the light of the world. He coming brings the light of salvation that is offered to all people. In His light all who believe in Him as God-man and Savior of the world become the light of the world. We are the light for the world today.

Exodus 17:1-7; Psalm 95:1-9; Romans 5:1-8; John 4:5-26 "Kingdom People Are On The Move"

Exodus 17 reveals the problem we all have when relationships are under stress because of change. Grumbling, quarreling, blaming easily dominate if our sin nature is allowed to lead under a time of change. John 4 provides God's answer in Christ. Daily drowning our sin nature in our Baptism into Christ Jesus so that we come forth drinking deeply of Christ and all the promises of God in Christ that empower us to be a new creation. The outcome is shown in Romans 5 where drinking from Christ's living water produces peace, access, grace, rejoicing (even in suffering), hope, and a life full of the love of God in Christ

Psalm 2; Exodus 24:8-18; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Matthew 17:1-9: Kingdom People Live Boldly

Kingdom People Live Boldly because Almighty God has revealed Himself boldly through simplicity. Jesus came by simple birth, lived a simple life, and died a criminal death. His resurrection is a bold fulfillment of the Scriptures. Now through Word and Sacrament we experience God's presence in a greater way than any experience even the one Peter, James and John experienced on the Mount of Transfiguration. Boldness comes from trusting God's provision rather than what human eye can see.

Isaiah 49:8-16a; Psalm 115; 1 Corinthians 4:1-13; Matthew 6:24-34--Kingdom People Seek God Alone!

St. Paul is dealing with the division and quarreling that existed in the church in Corinth. He tells them that they have all the riches they could ever need in Christ. These riches are not measured in home or cars or other physical things, the measure is internal and eternal. These riches are enjoyed under the blessing of God. There are 5 blessings in this message.
