The story is told by Tony Compolo that he prayed for a man who had cancer. He later heard from the man's wife that he had died, but that the prayer had resulted in the man letting go of his anger and receiving the peace of God. The wife reported that the last days of his life were the best days. God may chose to heal us physically, but He always choses to heal our inner being. He does this by choosing us to belong to Him, calling us, and adopting us into His family. This is a healing that we receive by faith in Jesus that lasts for all eternity.
